Although many of us believe that the first references to Angels came from the Hebrew bible .In fact throughout our cultural history , elements from different belief systems have been intertwined in the development of our ideas about Angels.
One of the oldest known source of angel knowledge is a text from the ancient Sumerian civilisation, this dates from around 3000bce, which refers to the "messengers of the gods": beings that are neither gods nor humans.
